Docker

One container on a laptop or a server: the fastest path to a first try.

Full guide in the docs

Who this is for

Developers and DevOps evaluating on a workstation or a single host, and small non-production deployments. For clusters, prefer Kubernetes.

Prerequisites

  • Docker Engine (Docker Compose for multi-container setups).
  • A named volume or host path for data: never keep data in the container layer.
  • Your license key from the workspace (an evaluation license is issued when you sign up).

Steps

  1. 1

    Pull the image

Pull the product image at the version you want to run.

    shell
    docker pull <xplg-image>:<version>
  2. 2

Run the node with your key

Publish the console port, mount a volume for data and pass the license key as an environment variable.

    shell
    docker run -d --name xplg-node \
      -p <console-port>:<console-port> \
      -v xplg-data:<data-path> \
      -e XPLG_LICENSE_KEY=<your-key> \
      <xplg-image>:<version>
  3. 3

Wait for the node to report ready

Follow the logs until the node reports that it is listening.

    shell
    docker logs -f xplg-node
  4. 4

    Open the console and register

Open the console on the published port. Complete the first-run screen, then register the deployment in your workspace so it can be licensed and tracked.

    text
    http://localhost:<console-port>

Sign in to get your key

The commands on this page use placeholders. Signed in, Deployments → New renders them with your license key and registration token.

Placeholders to verify

Values in angle brackets are placeholders. Verify with XPLG engineering before you rely on this page:

  • Image name and registry (<xplg-image>) per product.
  • Console port (<console-port>) and data path inside the container (<data-path>).
  • Name of the license environment variable (XPLG_LICENSE_KEY is a placeholder).

Next: register, license, usage

  • Register the deployment

Connect the node to your workspace so it can be licensed and tracked.

  • Get an evaluation license

Attach the evaluation license and its XMC AI tokens to the deployment.

  • Next steps

Bring in data, watch usage, automate with the API.
