Get an evaluation license

Request an evaluation license for a registered deployment, including XMC AI tokens for the AI features.

What you will do: request an evaluation license, attach it to your registered deployment and confirm the product accepts it.

An evaluation license is time-limited and sized for a trial. It includes an allocation of XMC AI tokens, the unit that AI-driven features consume, so you can try the AI parts of the products without a separate request.

Steps

  1. Open Licenses in dock and choose Request evaluation license.
  2. Select the product and the deployment you registered. If you have not registered one yet, go back to Register a deployment.
  3. State what you want to evaluate in a sentence. This helps XPLG size the license (for example a daily data volume for XpoLog or a number of streams for PortX).
  4. Submit. Evaluation licenses are issued by XPLG; the request shows as pending until it is approved.
  5. When the license is issued, it appears on Licenses with its expiry and units. Deployments that are registered and online pick it up automatically; otherwise copy the license key into the product console:
Console path: <placeholder>

What the license includes

  • The product features for the evaluation period.
  • Capacity in the product's unit: GB/day for XpoLog, streams and daily volume for PortX.
  • An allocation of XMC AI tokens. The Usage page shows the allocation next to what has been consumed.

When the evaluation ends

The license expiry is shown on Licenses. Before it ends, either extend the evaluation from the same page or move to a subscription; see How licensing works. Data and configuration stay in place; only licensed features stop.
