Register a deployment

Connect a running node or cluster to your dock workspace so it can be licensed and tracked.

What you will do: tell dock about the deployment you started, so a license can be attached to it and its usage shows in your workspace.

A registered deployment is one row on the Deployments page: product, version, environment, last seen and the license it runs under. Register every node or cluster you want to license, including non-production ones.

Steps

  1. In dock, open Deployments and choose Register deployment.
  2. Fill in the product, the environment (production or non-production) and a name you will recognise, for example the host or cluster name.
  3. dock shows a registration token. Copy it.
  4. In the product console, open the licensing or registration settings and paste the token:
Console path: <placeholder>
  1. Save. The deployment calls home and the row on Deployments changes from pending to active, with the version and last-seen time filled in.

Registration for air-gapped environments

If the deployment cannot reach dock, download the registration file from the same dialog and upload it in the product console instead:

Download: <placeholder>
Upload: <placeholder>

Usage is then reported by exporting a usage file from the console and uploading it on the Usage page.

What registration does not do

Registration does not license the deployment and does not send your data to XPLG. It identifies the deployment and reports metadata and usage counters: product, version, environment, and the licensed units (GB/day, streams, XMC AI tokens).

Removing a deployment

Decommissioned deployments can be removed from the Deployments page. Their license is released back to the organization.
