Deploy · Self-managed

Kubernetes

Install with the Helm chart on any managed or self-managed cluster.

Full guide in the docs

Who this is for

Platform and SRE teams running managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) or self-managed clusters, including OpenShift.

Prerequisites

  • kubectl access to the cluster and Helm installed.
  • A StorageClass that provides persistent volumes.
  • Your license key from the workspace, stored as a Kubernetes secret.

Steps

  1. 1

    Add the XPLG chart repository

Register the chart repository and refresh the index.

    shell
    helm repo add xplg <chart-repo-url>
    helm repo update
  2. 2

    Create the license secret

Keep the key out of values files and out of version control.

    shell
    kubectl create namespace <namespace>
kubectl create secret generic xplg-license \
      --from-literal=key=<your-key> -n <namespace>
  3. 3

    Write a values file

At minimum set storage and how the console is exposed; reference the license secret.

    yaml
    license:
      existingSecret: xplg-license
    persistence:
      storageClass: <storage-class>
      size: <size>
    service:
      type: <service-type>
    ingress:
      enabled: <true-or-false>
      host: <console-host>
  4. 4

    Install the release

Install into the namespace and wait for the pods to become ready.

    shell
    helm install <release> xplg/<chart> \
      --namespace <namespace> -f values.yaml
    kubectl get pods -n <namespace> -w
  5. 5

    Open the console and register

Open the console through the ingress host, or port-forward for a first look. Complete the first-run screen, then register the deployment in your workspace so it can be licensed and tracked.

    shell
    kubectl port-forward svc/<service> <console-port>:<console-port> -n <namespace>

Sign in to get your key

The commands on this page use placeholders. Signed in, Deployments → New renders them with your license key and registration token.

Placeholders to verify

Values in angle brackets are placeholders. Verify with XPLG engineering before you rely on this page:

  • Chart repository URL and chart name per product.
  • Values schema: the license secret key, persistence and ingress sections.
  • Service name and console port for port-forwarding.

Next: register, license, usage

  • Register the deployment

Connect the node to your workspace so it can be licensed and tracked.

  • Get an evaluation license

Attach the evaluation license and its XMC AI tokens to the deployment.

  • Next steps

Bring in data, watch usage, automate with the API.
