Create your account and workspace
Sign up for dock and create the organization that will own your deployments, licenses and invoices.
What you will do: create a personal sign-in, then create a workspace (an organization) for your company.
Licenses, invoices, usage and support tickets belong to an organization, not to a person. Even if you are evaluating alone, create the organization now so that everything you do can be handed to colleagues later.
Steps
- Open the sign-up page from the Get started button on the dock home page.
- Sign up with your work email and a password, or with one of the sign-in providers shown on the page. A work email keeps your evaluation attached to your company.
- Confirm your email if you are asked to.
- When prompted, create your workspace. Give it the name of your company or team — this is the name that appears on licenses and invoices.
- Invite colleagues from Team in the sidebar. The person who creates the workspace is its owner; invited members can be given a narrower role.
What you get
- A Home page with the onboarding checklist: deploy, register, license, subscribe.
- Empty Deployments, Licenses, Subscription and Usage pages that fill in as you complete the next steps.
- A Tickets page for support, and this documentation filtered to what your role may read.
Roles in short
The workspace owner can do everything. Admins manage members and settings. Members use the workspace day to day. A billing role sees invoices and the subscription. You can change roles at any time from Team.
If your company already has a workspace
Ask the owner or an admin to invite you instead of creating a second workspace. Two workspaces for one company means two sets of licenses and two bills.
