AWS Marketplace
Deploy an XPLG product in your AWS account from the AWS Marketplace listing and pay on your AWS bill.
What you will do: subscribe to the XPLG listing in AWS Marketplace, launch the product in your account and connect it to dock.
Deploying through the marketplace keeps the data in your AWS account and puts the subscription on your AWS invoice. The product and its licenses are the same as in every other environment.
Prerequisites
- An AWS account with permission to subscribe to marketplace products and to create the resources the listing deploys.
- A VPC and subnet for the deployment, and a security group that allows the console port from where you will use it.
Steps
- Open the XPLG listing:
<placeholder-aws-marketplace-url>
- Choose Subscribe and accept the terms shown by AWS.
- Choose the fulfilment option (for example an AMI or a container product), the region and the instance size from Sizing and capacity planning.
- Launch with the network settings above. For AMI-based listings, attach a data volume sized for your retention.
- When the instance is running, open the console:
http://<placeholder-instance-address>:<placeholder-port>
- Complete the first-run screen and register the deployment.
Linking the marketplace subscription to dock
After subscribing, open Subscription in your workspace and choose Link cloud marketplace subscription. This connects the AWS subscription to your organization so that licenses issued against it appear on Licenses and usage on Usage. See Subscriptions and cloud marketplaces.
Operations
- Upgrade: launch the new listing version and move the data volume, or follow the product's in-place upgrade; see Upgrades.
- Backup: snapshot the data volume on a schedule.
- Cancel: cancel the subscription in AWS Marketplace; the deployment keeps running until its license expires.
