Subscriptions and cloud marketplaces
Buy a subscription from XPLG or through AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, and link it to your workspace.
What you will do: choose where to buy, start the subscription and see its licenses appear in your workspace.
A subscription is a term — 12, 24 or 36 months — for one or more products at a chosen capacity. It produces the licenses that your deployments run under. You can buy directly from XPLG or through the cloud marketplace of the account you deploy in.
Buying from XPLG
- Open Subscription in your workspace and choose Request a quote, or contact sales as listed under Getting help.
- Agree the products, units, term and payment schedule. The quote shows the list price and the price per term option.
- Accept the quote. XPLG creates the subscription and issues the licenses; they appear on Licenses.
- Attach each license to its deployment if it is not attached automatically.
Invoicing follows Invoices and payment.
Buying through a cloud marketplace
Subscribe to the XPLG listing in AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace or Google Cloud Marketplace. The charge appears on your cloud bill and can draw down a committed spend with that provider.
- Complete the subscription in the marketplace.
- In your workspace, open Subscription and choose Link cloud marketplace subscription.
- Follow the link to the marketplace, confirm the account, and return to dock. The subscription shows as linked with its term and products.
- Licenses issued against the marketplace subscription appear on Licenses; attach them to deployments as usual.
The product, licenses and support are the same whichever way you buy. Only the invoice changes.
Changing a subscription
- Add capacity or products mid-term from Subscription; the addition is pro-rated to the end of the term.
- Reduce at renewal.
- Cancel at the end of the term; see Renewals and multi-year terms. Marketplace subscriptions are cancelled in the marketplace.
