Azure Marketplace
Deploy an XPLG product in your Azure subscription from the Azure Marketplace listing and pay on your Azure bill.
What you will do: deploy the XPLG listing from Azure Marketplace into a resource group you own and connect it to dock.
The deployment runs inside your Azure subscription; the charge appears on your Azure invoice. Licenses and features are identical to every other environment.
Prerequisites
- An Azure subscription with permission to purchase marketplace offers and to create resources in a resource group.
- A virtual network and subnet, and a network security group that allows the console port from where you will use it.
Steps
- Open the XPLG offer:
<placeholder-azure-marketplace-url>
- Choose Get it now or Create and select the plan.
- Pick the resource group, the region and the VM size from Sizing and capacity planning.
- Configure networking and add a data disk sized for your retention.
- Review and create. When the deployment finishes, open the console:
http://<placeholder-vm-address>:<placeholder-port>
- Complete the first-run screen and register the deployment.
Linking the marketplace subscription to dock
Open Subscription in your workspace and choose Link cloud marketplace subscription to attach the Azure purchase to your organization. Licenses then appear on Licenses and consumption on Usage. See Subscriptions and cloud marketplaces.
Operations
- Upgrade: follow Upgrades; keep the data disk when replacing the VM.
- Backup: use Azure Backup or disk snapshots on a schedule.
- Cancel: cancel the offer from the Azure portal; the deployment keeps running until its license expires.
